Today we bring you our April 2021 Newsletter! As the Peace Palace Library is still closed to the public due to the current national lockdown, the Librarians are still working from home. Despite the fact that we work remotely, we have recently managed to continue to assist Library patrons as well as possible.
In this Newsletter we once again bring to your attention the 75th anniversary of the International Court of Justice. This time we focus on the inaugural session that took place in the Great Hall of Justice on 18 April 1946. A video gives a vivid impression of how the hearing took place. By the way, did you know that the Library has prepared a special research guide dedicated to the ICJ?
We would like to point out that, in addition to all digital library services available, we have continued our live Chat service. This Chat service is open on working days from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m (CET). We'd love to hear from you, so get in touch if you have a question for us!
Furthermore, a blog by our regular guest blogger Jaap Hoeksma on the future of the European Union, an interesting database with no fewer than 1000 peace treaties, and an interesting item on the Japanese Room, one of the jewels of the Peace Palace.
We hope you enjoy reading this newsletter. Thank you very much for your support!
Stay healthy, stay safe!
