Library Launches Project to Reorganize Large‑Format Materials

The Library has initiated a comprehensive project to reorganize its collection of large‑format materials. This effort focuses on improving the storage, safety, and accessibility of items such as maps and posters, oversized books (folio volumes), and large‑format images and archival materials.

By redesigning the storage and handling workflow, the Library aims to ensure that these valuable materials are preserved under optimal conditions and managed more efficiently. In the next phase of the project, the entire large‑format collection will be catalogued in greater detail, significantly enhancing searchability and user access.

In addition, the Library is exploring the possibility of digitizing parts of the collection, which would further expand accessibility and support long‑term preservation.

This project underscores the Library’s commitment to safeguarding its unique materials and improving services for researchers, students, and the wider community.
