Book Launch 'The Unseen History of International Law', 17 June 2025

On 17 June 2025 at 5pm, the Peace Palace Library will host a book launch of 'The Unseen History of International Law: a Census Bibliography of Hugo Grotius' De Iure Belli ac Pacis (1625-1650 editions)', fresh from Oxford University Press. Edward Jones Corredera and Mark Somos, two of the co-authors, will introduce the book and answer questions.

In 2023 the Library had the pleasure of assisting Dr. Edward Jones Corredera and also Dr. Jonathan Nathan, two historians and dedicated research fellows from Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg, Germany during their research of our Grotius collection. In 2024 In 2023, Rens Steenhard, one of the Library's law librarians, provided a great deal of data on the first nine editions De Iure Belli ac Pacis in our collection.
