The Struggle for Law in the Oceans argues that the United States, by following a misleading isolationist narrative and not acceding to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), has harmed and continues to harm its interests. These interests include, but are not limited to, access to deep-sea mining rights, freedom of navigation, and national security. The book makes the case for acceding to UNCLOS at the earliest opportunity.
